SutraMedha Source is used by Himachal Now News to receive and process news material submitted through designated communication channels, including WhatsApp.
Information We Process
When you send content to our designated WhatsApp number, we may process information associated with that submission, including:
- WhatsApp sender/account identifiers;
- message text and captions;
- images and other supported media submitted with the story;
- message identifiers, timestamps and technical information required to receive and process the submission.
How We Use This Information
This information is used for newsroom and editorial purposes, including:
- receiving news stories, reports and related material;
- associating text, captions and images belonging to the same submission;
- reviewing and processing submitted material for possible editorial use;
- maintaining the security, reliability and integrity of the intake system;
- preventing duplicate processing of the same submission.
Submission of material does not guarantee publication.
WhatsApp and Meta
WhatsApp messages are transmitted using services provided by Meta and WhatsApp. Their processing of information is governed by their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
SutraMedha Source uses the official WhatsApp Business Platform for supported automated receipt and processing of submitted newsroom material.
Storage and Retention
Submitted material may be stored securely for newsroom processing and operational purposes.
SutraMedha Source is designed to apply bounded retention to its WhatsApp source records. The current standard retention period is 45 days, subject to legitimate editorial, legal, security or operational requirements.
Content that has subsequently become part of an editorial or published news record may be retained separately under the newsroom’s normal editorial and publishing practices.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information received through SutraMedha Source.
Information may be accessed by authorized newsroom personnel and by service providers or technology platforms where necessary to operate the service, maintain security, or comply with applicable law.
